Or Midbar 2015 – Building the Financial Base for the Future

Following our congregation’s 8th Anniversary celebration, the Board of Directors began planning for our next 8 years and beyond. We identified three areas that are keys to our future development and success, and created the Or Midbar 2015 Campaign to create the financial resources to bring them to fruition.

 We are already on our way to our goal of $500,000 in new resources to secure our future, in the three funds described below. With your help, we’ll close the gap in no time!

Or Midbar 2015 …

Congregational Life Enrichment Fund Dedicated to providing enhanced programming and enriching the spiritual and communal life of our membership, this key long-term fund has a five-year goal of $120,000 to allow Congregation Or Midbar to expand its programs for young and old alike.

The Board created this Fund to enable a broad range of creative ideas to be realized. Possibilities already identified include:

Distinguished Speaker Series
Visiting Artists and Performers
Religious School Field Trips
Religious School
Judaic Enrichment
Creative Worship Experiences
Rabbi /Cantor-in-Residence
Temple Family Weekend Retreats
Adult Learning Opportunities
Teen Events with URJ Organizations
Community-building Activities
…plus many others yet to be conceived or determined!

Your family’s contribution to Or Midbar 2015 will help support long-term program enhancements for all members of the Or Midbar Family.

Or Midbar 2015 will build this program enrichment fund. Or, if you prefer, you may allocate your pledge solely to this fund…or to a specific program that enriches life and learning at Congregation Or Midbar. Naming opportunities are certainly available.

Or Midbar 2015…

Rabbinic Housing Fund Dedicated to assuring that Congregation Or Midbar will always attract and retain the best possible Rabbinic Leadership…and helping the Rabbi live within the Kingman, AZ community, where housing costs can prove challenging.

Your family’s contribution to Or Midbar 2015 will help support the Rabbinic Housing Fund, a revolving, self-replenishing fund a new Congregation Or Midbar Rabbi can borrow from—at preferential rates—to help with the purchase of a home or rental of an apartment in the Kingman Arizona community.

Some of this funding has already been pledged, but the fund needs to grow substantially to reach its $150,000 target. “Adding” to a new Rabbi’s housing budget can clearly help assure that Congregation Or Midbar attracts and retains the very strongest Rabbinic leadership by buffering the cost of housing in our community.

Detailed terms and conditions of loans to be made under this program have been reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors, which administers the fund.

Or Midbar 2015 …

Temple Sanctuary Fund While no design and construction decisions have yet been made, a team of Temple members has begun to explore alternatives and concepts to build our new Temple Sanctuary. A long list of ideas is already on the table and 1 acre of land has already been donated, but your family’s ideas…and involvement…are still quite timely and welcome.

Your family’s contribution to Or Midbar 2015 will help support the construction costs for the Or Midbar Temple Sanctuary, so that our next generations will pray and celebrate in a modern, comfortable, beautiful Sanctuary. We plan on installing an updated kitchen where caterers and members can cook and facilitate a wide variety of larger and more complete events.

Your contribution will most definitely help. If you prefer, you may allocate your pledge solely to this fund…or to a specific fund that enriches worship and life at Congregation Or Midbar. A wide variety of naming opportunities are certainly available.
